Alien

Alien

Alien stories put you face to face with the truly unfamiliar. In one session, you might track a strange signal, land on a quiet moon, or open a hatch in a dark derelict. Conversation can be clicks, light, or scent. A lab bench becomes a battleground of clues. Perhaps you bargain with a hive-mind. Maybe you run from something that learns. You decide who to trust, what to touch, and when to leave. Curiosity pulls you forward. The unknown pushes back.

At the table, it shines because discovery is a team sport. Everyone gets a role, from pilot to scientist to negotiator. Clues and maps keep beginners engaged. Safety tools and clear stakes tame the tension for families. Puzzles, translation, and fieldwork fit company team events. Veterans love survival choices, resource pressure, and moral crossroads. A professional Game Master keeps the pace tight, gives spotlight to each player, and steers between wonder and fear so your group gets the flavour you want.

Our Game Masters run it in many styles. Hard science fiction with Traveller or GURPS, gritty horror with the Alien RPG or Mothership, or heroic space opera with Fate or Starfinder. Rules-light for a fast one-shot, or crunchy for long campaigns. Tone can be bright first contact, tense stealth, invasion war, or nonviolent science puzzle. Content boundaries are set up front. See the game systems we support, then tell your GM the mix of science, horror, and hope you prefer.

Common questions

How does Alien gameplay differ from typical sci-fi or horror?

Alien stories revolve around encounters with minds not originating from Earth. The tension arises from the effort to understand or be understood. In general sci-fi, gameplay may focus on gadgets, travel, or politics. In pure horror, the threat often defies reason. Here, biology, signals, and culture present puzzles with patterns you can explore. You must balance protocol, empathy, and survival. A professional Game Master reveals the discoverable rules behind the unfamiliar. Missteps are significant, but so are breakthroughs. Sessions can feel cautious, terrifying, or hopeful. Let the GM know how you’d like that dial adjusted.

Which game systems suit Alien stories best?

Different systems suit different tones. Alien RPG captures tense survival with stress and panic. Mothership provides gritty procedures for ships, derelicts, and hazards. Traveller or GURPS focus on grounded science and logistics. Fate or Starfinder emphasise bold action and diplomatic standoffs. If you prefer rules-light, a professional Game Master can run a streamlined engine for quick play. See all supported systems at this list, then mention the mix you prefer.

Is Alien a good choice for beginners or children?

Yes. For first-timers, a professional Game Master provides clear objectives, pre-generated characters, and visual aids that make the unfamiliar feel manageable. Dice mechanics remain straightforward unless your group requests more complexity. Safety tools establish boundaries before play. For children, we steer clear of gore and body horror, focusing instead on exploration and creative problem-solving, while keeping scenes brief. Engaging creature encounters and translation puzzles are effective. Parents or organisers can set content limits and tone in advance.

What can we anticipate in a one-shot Alien session?

Expect a clear brief, a peculiar site, and a goal of first contact or containment. You choose roles such as pilot, scientist, medic, or negotiator. A professional Game Master provides clues through scans, samples, and signals. You test ideas, develop a protocol, then face a tough decision. Pre-generated characters and handouts keep the pace lively. Most one-shots accommodate 3 to 6 players. Online, maps, audio, and shared handouts ensure smooth translation games. Check typical GM approaches at playstyles if you have a specific tone in mind.

What players have to say

  • Joran had 6 children aged 12 completely engaged for the full four hours. Most of them were playing for the first time. They were actively entertained from start to finish. At no point did anyone seem bored or irritated. Joran was also perfectly prepared and had excellent game materials.

    Haiko

  • Ruby was fantastic; this was our group’s first DnD experience, and she helped everyone grasp the rules and enjoy themselves.

    Adam

  • We had a fantastic time, the lads really enjoyed their campaign and Evan was excellent. I would definitely recommend Evan. Thank you!

    Cheidhia

  • Geert was great fun and full of enthusiasm! We were in stitches laughing :D

    Wessel

  • It was a brilliant experience for the girls! Thank you, Marie! You were incredibly well prepared, the girls were captivated by your every word, and it felt like you had been playing together for years! Looking forward to seeing you next time!

    Annick

  • Tom was brilliant! He was really great with the kids and very patient with his explanations. It was a wonderful evening and definitely worth doing again! The children asked the next day when we would be doing this again.

    Danny

  • First of all, I want to say that Sebastian was really great as a DM. For his first run as a booked DM, he did an excellent job. The 3 stars refer to the following: 1. We were disappointed that the adventure was labelled a One Shot yet wasn't a complete story. Discovering that there are two more parts wasn't very positive for us, as it meant there was no satisfying conclusion to the story. 2. As new players, it was difficult for us to understand the English character sheets in such a short time. In German, it would have been much easier. Even receiving the character sheets a few days in advance would have been helpful for preparation. 3. More guidance would be beneficial. Especially for beginners, a more linear one shot would have been preferable. We wasted a significant portion of the adventure time doing unnecessary things because we didn't fully understand how the game worked. Overall, I think the StoryForgers concept is really good and I see a lot of potential in it, especially for introducing new players to D&D. I hope you don't take my feedback the wrong way but see it as honest criticism. Best regards, Mario

  • Bryan was exceptional. We had a group with varying levels of experience, and he managed to keep everyone engaged and involved. His positive attitude made the game enjoyable for all. I really appreciated how he could clearly explain what was needed from our less experienced players while keeping our more seasoned players on their toes with his deep knowledge of the game. Everyone in our party had a fantastic time thanks to Bryan.

    Jeremy

  • Dayron was fantastic. Well-prepared, punctual, and had a brilliant sense of humour.
